Place of Origin. Moses Lake, Washington. Every August, the Grant County Fair returns to Moses Lake, Washington. With it comes the fair's most well-known food: Spaceburgers. Two slices of white bread go in a special sandwich-making machine that seals inside a mixture of seasoned ground beef, sauce, and shredded lettuce.

They called their stunt "Operation Skyfall." The hamburger was purchased from B. good, a local restaurant. It was left to age for a few days and then covered with a layer of spray-on varnish to better withstand winds on its journey through the upper atmosphere.

Medium Burger Temp To cook a medium burger, the meat's internal temperature should reach between 140 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Flip the Burgers Once and Only Once Constant turning will toughen and dry out the meat, and if you flip too soon, burgers will stick. Cook two minutes per side for rare, three minutes for medium-rare, four minutes for medium, and five minutes for well-done.
